Healing With the Angels, by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.
A great place to
start! Doreen Virtue introduces you to the angels and gives many
examples of how they can assist you in various areas of your
life. One of the highlights is the indispensable guide in the
back of the book that outlines numerical sequences and the
messages angels are communicating through numbers. I refer to it
often.
Archangels & Ascended Masters, by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.
An informative and
enlightening book that serves as a thorough reference guide to
over 75 Divine Beings. Gives names, background, and invocations
for each. Also categorizes the archangels and ascended masters
as to how they can assist you, e.g. love, career, family, etc.
Messages From Your Angels, by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.
In this book,
Doreen Virtue offers channeled messages from the angels on a
variety of topics. She also includes some wonderful information
for connecting with the angels and receiving information for
yourself and others.
A Book of Angels, by Sophy Burnham
A wonderful
overview and history of the angels and how they have been
perceived through time. She also includes many wonderful true
stories about people who have been touched by angels.

One of my first
spiritual books and one that I never tire of. The wisdom is
timeless!
Personal Power through Awareness, by Sanaya Roman
If you are a
sensitive person, this is a wonderful book that teaches you how
to sense and work with energy to transform your life and your
relationships. Again, it has timeless messages that I return to
again and again.
Opening to Channel, by Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer
If you want to
connect with your Higher Self and spirit guides, this is a great
step-by-step book that gently guides you and helps you develop
your channeling skills.

A detailed,
step-by-step book to help you open your psychic abilities and

great exercises!
Chakra Clearing, by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.
A little book
packed with invaluable information and meditations for clearing
and balancing your chakras. You can also get the book with the

The Lightworker’s Way, by Doreen Virtue, Ph.D.
Doreen shares her

committing to her lightworker path. This one really helped me to

The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho
I just love this
book, which uses an imaginary tale of a young man’s quest for
his dreams to communicate many deep, universal messages.
Wisdom of the Heart, by Alan Cohen
This book offers
52 brief poems, quotes, and parables (one per week) and Cohen’s
interpretation of their deeper, spiritual meaning. It’s
incredibly inspirational and has many great lessons.

Housden’s
interpretations and personal reflections of 10 inspiring poems
will inspire you to delve deeper into your soul’s purpose and

Animal Speak, by
Ted Andrews
Another
indispensable reference guide that details the role of animal
totems and nature in our spiritual quest. Provides detailed

introduced me to a whole new world. I have a new respect for

Oracle Cards
Needless to say, I love (and use) all of the following decks by
Doreen Virtue. The decks work well individually or together. I
have included what makes each deck unique, but when it comes to
the cards, it really helps to see them and get a feeling for
which deck “calls” you. Remember, all of the decks are meant to
be used intuitively. There really are no right or wrong ways to
use these cards. Just center yourself and call on your angels.
You can’t make a mistake!
Healing With The Angels
I think of this as
the original deck. The artwork and the messages are “ heavenly.”
Great for guidance on your spiritual path. These cards have a
tendency to fly out of the deck to make a point or just repeat
themselves until you finally “get it.”
Healing With The Fairies
The fairies are
fun and playful and so are these cards. I always find these
cards love to come with me when I’m traveling. The guidance is a
little more “grounded” than the Healing With The Angels deck and
will help you with many practical earthly concerns. Note: These
cards are great for kids. I usually remove the “Sexuality” and
“Romantic Partner” cards and then let them pick a card randomly.
Messages From Your Angels
People love these cards because
they are very specific and accurate. There is a brief message
printed on the card, which is helpful in understanding the
meaning before looking in the booklet.
Magical Mermaids and Dolphins
I always think
I’ll never love a deck as much as the ones I already know and
love. Then along comes another incredible deck. That has been my
experience with the Mermaids and Dolphins. The guidance is
related to manifesting and how you can best make your dreams
come true. It’s always right on and I have to say I love these
cards and the way they combine with the other decks.
Native American Oracle Cards
The two decks I love and use often are by Jamie Sams:
Medicine Cards
These beautiful
cards give you guidance through animal totems. The accompanying
book is very insightful as to the characteristics of the
animal(s) you have chosen and how you can apply that wisdom to
your life circumstances.
Sacred Path Cards
These cards are
based on Native American spiritual traditions and offer guidance
as to where you are and where you are headed in life. It comes
with a book that is helpful but I highly suggest getting the
Sacred Path Cards Workbook. It gives you many great spreads to
work with and the explanations of each card are more detailed
and easier to apply.

My husband Manny
is an avid reader and explorer of varied spiritual paths. He has
studied shamanism, Buddhism, and the Integral theory with Ken
Wilber. He recommends the following books, which have impacted

A Theory of Everything by Ken Wilber
Any of Ken’s books
will challenge your current beliefs and lead you to new
awareness. I find this particular one a good introduction to
Ken’s work.
One Taste by Ken Wilber
This is a great
follow up to the first book. It is written as a one year journal
and provides wonderful insight into what Integral Practice is
all about.
Soul Retrieval by Sandra Ingerman
A how-to book on
the ancient shamanic practice of soul retrieval. Provides a
wonderful tool for introspecting and how to help others do the
same.
Essential Spirituality by Roger Walsh
Provides exercises
from the world’s religions to cultivate kindness, love, joy,
peace, vision, wisdom and generosity.
What Really Matters by Tony Schwartz
A wonderful guide
to the best teachers and methods for self-improvement. Tony
really explores the American wisdom tradition.
Talks with Ramana Maharshi by Ramana Maharshi
Wisdom from one of
the great sages. A book to be read again and again.
The Diamond Approach by John Davis
This book offers
an introduction to the teachings of A.H. Almaas. A wonderful
integration of spirituality and psychology.
