May 2004

Angel Greetings and Blessings!

Happy May everyone. The good news is that Mercury Retrograde has passed us by, ending on April 30. I don’t usually pay much attention to these things, but I must say I have noticed a difference since the calendar turned to May 1. They say that things get kind of “stuck” during a retrograde time. I don’t know about you, but all of a sudden, I feel like I have blasted off in a rocket ship and am traveling at light speed. Everything seems to be happening at once. I am knee-deep in work, I have classes and a kids’ birthday party to plan, and these home improvements that we have been putting off for months are suddenly all coming together at the same time. Whew! Deep breath in and out.

Times like these are when we must remember to use our spiritual tools. It’s easy to remember to meditate and take time in nature when we are peaceful and balanced. But the challenge lies in maintaining that peace and harmony in the midst of the storm. If time is a factor, we can at least make sure to listen to some beautiful, calming music while we work and pay attention to our thoughts throughout our hectic days. Rather than thinking “I have so much to do. I don’ t know how I am going to do this,” substitute “All my needs are met abundantly. I have all the time and assistance I need. I am surrounded by peace and harmony.” And of course, call on the angels to help you.
On another note, I want to thank all the beautiful souls who recently joined me for classes at Crystal Vision. It truly was an enlightening time for me. It was especially rewarding to see how the angels are touching everyone’s lives!

I know that, in turn, many of you will bring peace and healing to others.  As always, I encourage everyone to keep in touch and email me your angel stories ellenwv@aol.com.

**Important: Please note change in class schedule**

The May classes scheduled at New Age Emporium (Ascended Masters on May 13 and the kids’ workshop on May 22) are being moved to June/July. I do not have the exact dates but will email them in the June newsletter.
I apologize for any inconveniences! I think this was the angels’ way of easing my schedule this month.

Lessons from a First-Grader You have probably heard of the book “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten.” Well, lately, I have been experiencing a similar phenomenon, but through my son, Gabriel, who is 7 years old and in the First Grade. Over the last couple weeks, I have noticed that he has been bringing home from school more than his leftover lunches and homework. He has actually been bringing home some valuable lessons and pieces of wisdom. I would like to share with you some of what he has shared with me.

Last week, as I handed him a paper towel, Gabriel asked me if it was a recycled paper towel. Now, I do often buy recycled products, but to be honest, I have been slacking in this department, mainly out of convenience. “ Because you know, Mom,” he went on to tell me, “you can save trees by buying the recycled kind.” And he is not letting the issue drop so easily. This week, he asked again if I had purchased the recycled paper towels yet. And he threw in that I could even get recycled toilet paper! It was a good reminder and I have promised him and myself that I will make more of an effort to purchase recycled products. I also took the opportunity to tell him that there are other products, too, that we can purchase that are better for the environment, such as natural, biodegradable soaps and cleaning liquids.

Next lesson: the Rainforest. Just yesterday, Gabriel started telling me about how important the Rainforests are. “And did you know, Mom, that if you cut down one tree in the Rainforest, you are hurting all the animals?
There can be as many as 10 critters who live in that tree, and you’re taking away all the bugs that other animals eat.” He also told me that trees help us by taking our carbon dioxide and giving us oxygen to breathe. What a wonderful reminder to appreciate the beauty and wonder of the trees that sustain us on Mother Earth!

Last night’s lesson, however, was the highlight for me. As I was putting him and his little brother, Michael, to sleep, Gabriel says to me, “ Mommy, do you know what empathy is?” After doing a double-take and getting over my amazement at this question, I said “Yes, but do you know what empathy is?” He told me that empathy is putting yourself in somebody else’s place.  Obviously, he had learned this in school as I had never taught him.

Moments later, Gabriel was criticizing a drawing his little brother had made. I jumped on the chance to remind him about empathy. “How do you think Michael feels when you say that? How would you feel if you were in his place?” His response was immediate. “Michael, your drawing is pretty good.” This morning, as Gabriel was leaving to go to school, I mentioned it would be nice if he would say “good-bye” to his brother. He started to walk out without saying anything. I called after him: “Empathy!” As he walked out the door, he said “Good-bye Mom. Good-bye Michael.” Michael’s face lit up as he always yearns for attention from his big brother.

The public schools take a lot of flak for their shortcomings. But this Mom is thankful for some valuable teachings that have made their way into my home. I hope they are lessons you will bring into your life as well.

June 2004

Angel Greetings and Blessings!

California, here I come! In just two weeks, I will be in Laguna Beach for the Advanced Angel Therapy
PractitionerTM workshop with Doreen Virtue.  I am thoroughly looking forward to being in the wonderful, awesome energy of Doreen and some 100 beautiful lightworkers from around the world. I feel very blessed to have this opportunity and know that it will be a memorable and transformative experience.

At the same time, I must admit I am feeling just a little bit of nervousness mixed in with the excitement. After all, I am traveling into the unknown. Not only will the physical territory be new to me, but also the spiritual territory. The class description says that Doreen will be “teaching some material at the Advance Course that may be considered very far out, but that nonetheless makes sense and ultimately is helpful and healing.” I am very curious, ready, and open. And I am excited about the notion of integrating these new lessons into my life and then passing them on to others. Stay tuned!
Meanwhile, I ask for and receive your blessings as I take this next step on my journey. I send all of you blessings and my gratitude for your loving support.

The Venus Transit – Welcoming and Honoring the Goddess/Feminine Energy On Tuesday, June 8, thousands of people around the planet will be joining in prayer to celebrate the Venus Transit, a momentous astronomical event that last occurred in 1882. What is it all about? Below, I am including a description from Doreen Virtue and a link that may offer you more information.
What is most important is that, if you feel guided, you meditate or pray on June 8 and the days that follow to help bring in these feminine energies, both on a personal and a global level. Please remember that the word “ feminine” in this case does not refer strictly to females or women. Whereas masculine energy represents the physical, scientific, technological, and strength aspects, feminine energy represents the qualities of nurturing, gentleness, compassion, and intuition. Both are needed for balance. If you look at the world situation today, it is clear that we are in need of more feminine energy to find that global balance.

So use this time to bring balance into your own life. Honor both the masculine and feminine aspects within your nature and look at the places in your life where you can be more compassionate and nurturing – especially toward yourself.  Now, here is some more information:

From Doreen Virtue:
“On June 8, the planet Venus will eclipse the sun, a phenomenon that’s only occurred 4 times since the invention of the telescope! This hasn’t happened since 1882, and won’t occur again until the pivotal year of 2012.
Since ancient time, Venus has represented the Divine feminine energy. Now, as we’re beginning to understand the urgent need to balance the world’s patriarchal energy with the wisdom and healing grace of the feminine, Venus is here to ask us the question: What do you choose?
If we choose to balance the world’s energy with feminine and masculine, then the prophecies of peace of 2012 will come about smoothly and harmoniously. If we continue to choose a purely masculine world leadership, then we will continue the ironical struggle and fight for peace. With Venus eclipsing the Sun (a historical symbol of the masculine), June 8 is a powerful time.

During that time, we’ll let go of any fears about feminine power, and call her back in to heal and balance us all. Join us in consciously choosing to reawaken the Goddess Energy that the world has recognized for eons, and which is now re-emerging. No matter where you live on the planet, please take a moment either at 8 pm your time, or in our California time zone, to join us in ushering in the healing energy.” For more information on the Venus Transit, go to http://www.sharedjourneys.org/NMJ/venus_transit.htm This is part of a website by Rev. Michele Bailey-Lessirard, a wonderful lightworker in Plantation who specializes in astrology and shamanism. If you have an interest in astrology or the moon cycles, Michele’s website is packed with detailed information.
