When I began my spiritual journey, I was immediately and quite naturally called to work with light. I filled myself with light during meditations, cleared myself with light, and sent light out to my loved ones. I experimented with light as I drove in my car, stood in line at the grocery store, or exercised at the gym. Then one day, I came across the term lightworker. It was a word that resonated with me and the more I learned, the more I knew in my heart that this was a word that described me and so many others on the spiritual path.

So just what exactly is a lightworker and how do you know if you are one? And if you are, what does it mean? First of all, being a lightworker does not make you any more or less special than anyone else on this planet. It is important to remember that we are all one, in truth. We are all here to remember who we are – one with Source. However, in this physical plane of duality and illusion, each of us incarnates with a certain purpose. A lightworker would be one who has incarnated with the purpose of bringing more light to the planet and working with this light in a spiritual way to heal humanity and the Earth.
Big job, huh? Well, perhaps that is why there are so many of us!

Lightworkers come in all shapes, colors and sizes and they work at all types of jobs. While it is always difficult to generalize, here are a few questions to help you determine if you might be a lightworker:

Have you always felt a little different, like you didn’t quite fit in?
.
Did you always feel as if you had something very important to do in your life?
.
Do you have a sense of urgency that is telling you there is something you are supposed to be doing, but you’re not quite sure what it is?
.
Do you feel called to counsel, teach, or heal?
.
Are you drawn to spiritual topics or learning spiritual techniques that utilize light and energy (e.g. Reiki, Tai Chi, yoga)?

If any of these describe you, or if you already know you are a lightworker, then what? The most important, and sometimes the most challenging, thing for lightworkers to do is to remember who they are and to fully step into their power. Sometimes we ignore the guidance we are getting because deep down, we are afraid of our own light, afraid of our own power.

One easy step you can take to move forward as a lightworker is to call on and work with Archangel Michael. He oversees and works closely with lightworkers to help them gain confidence and courage in themselves and their Divine mission. All you have to do is ask and Archangel Michael – who can be with everyone simultaneously – will guide you step by step to the books, teachers, classes, and jobs that will help you fulfill your purpose.

As a lightworker, it is important to listen to your inner nudgings and learn to trust and follow the guidance you are receiving. Some things that you can do to improve your ability to hear and trust your inner wisdom, include:

            Meditation
.
            Yoga, walking, or other exercise
.
Watching your thoughts (focusing on what you want
rather than what you do not want)
.
            Spending time in nature
.
Keeping your energy clear and balanced (through
            chakra clearing, shielding, etc.)
.
Watching what you eat and drink (cut down on meat,
sugar, alcohol, tobacco or other harsh substances
            that lower your energy)

As a lightworker, there is nothing more rewarding than allowing your guidance and passion to lead you to the place you know you were supposed to be all along. For some, that may mean stepping into a spiritual career. For others, that may mean allowing their creative gifts to shine and blossom. And for others, that may mean working as an “undercover lightworker” in the corporate world. All that matters is that you are allowing your light to shine, for every single light is needed. As you create peace within your own life, your light joins with that of other lightworkers around the world, paving the way for the peace on Earth that we all seek.
